"A heap of short sharp bumps, like tree roots, really sort out XC duallies. The Ethos just swallows them up, in straight lines or cornering"

Ethos Bicycles evolved from a passion for mountain bike riding. We know the feeling when your bike is not rideable.

So, it broke or something just isn’t right. What now?

Ethos Bicycles will repair or replace, at our discretion, for the first 12 months from date of delivery, for the original owner.

Call us. Tell us the problem. After the first 12 months, still call us! We’ll work with you. We may elect to repair or replace the damaged frame member. Maybe a reduced cost replacement will be the answer.

What you need to do…

We'll need to see the entire bike in the ‘flesh’, complete with all parts. We will also need to see proof of purchase. We will return the bike to you for disassembly by you or your agent. You will then return the specified frame members for repair or replacement.

Ethos Bicycles will not be responsible in any way for any loss or damage arising during freight. Ethos Bicycles recommends you clean and carefully package, suitably insure for loss and or damage, and register the package. You are responsible for all packaging, freight fees and charges, including any freight insurance.

Remember frames are like any other component; they don't last forever. The harder you work it, the shorter its’ service life.

Inspect your frame and other components for cracks, gouges dents and scratches and other defects before every ride. Learn how it looks when it is new, that way you will be able to recognise changes. Pay particular attention around welds and seemingly benign scratches and dings. Cracks usually appear initially as a very fine dark line in the paint/powder coat. Creaks, groans, clicks or knocking sounds may also indicate a developing crack or a loose component. Do not dismiss indicators. Serious injury or death may result from riding a damaged bike. Most likely it will be you who will suffer, maybe a passer-by. You are responsible for yourself and those around you!
Mountain biking is a dangerous, potentially life threatening sport. The risk increases if you ride without proper safety equipment. Never ride without an approved helmet. Always ride in control. Never ride beyond your ability. Never ride on damaged or improperly functioning equipment.

How to void your warranty.

Mutual obligation is a play here. Maintain your bike. Ride it appropriately. For example, don't order a light-weight Climb-Max and use it for a jump bike and expect a free replacement frame if you break it.

Don’t fit a triple clamp fork to a ‘round tubed’ frame.

Don’t buy a used Ethos and expect to be covered by the original owners warranty.

Sanding, sand blasting, grinding, filling welding, drilling, wire brushing, chrome-plating or anodising may void your warranty.

Riding BMX tracks, ‘urban assault’ including stair jumps and ledges, ramps, jump parks, extreme ‘mountain bike video’ terrain and trials may void your warranty.

We do not warrant; accident damage, normal wear, damage caused by incorrect mechanical repairs, neglect, damage caused by neglect, damage caused by incorrectly fitted or inappropriate components or damage caused by failure of components manufactured by other than Ethos Bicycles.

We will however endeavour to assist where possible, in our judgement, any original Ethos Bicycle owner back onto the trails.

Components manufactured by a party or parties other than Ethos Bicycles are subject to the original manufactures terms and conditions.
